Businesses without answering machines?? Don’t get it.
I just tried to call a business this morning to rent a bicycle for this weekend since mine got stolen while I was in school. When I called they were obviously closed since it was 7:30am and no one picked up the phone. However, the amazing thing was that they didnt even have an answering machine where I could leave a message.
I can sort of understand why some small businesses might not have spent the time and money to build a website (although even that is a ridiculous concept) but an answering machine is simple to set up and serves the purposes of both educating potential customers as well lead generation for people that want to leave a message.
Strange business practices….
Dude, you want to buy a bike? I have a practically brand new bike I can sell you for cheap! Garage is getting a little cramped.
