The Roots Concert Review – Saturday night at Showbox
I went with my friend Dan to see the Roots concert at the Showbox Theater in Seattle on Saturday night. The show was phenomenal.
As I have said a few times before, the Showbox is a top 5 venue nationwide for seeing live concerts. That combined with the fact that the Roots are all extremely talented musicians (yes, they actually play all of their instruments) made for a great show.
Highlights of the show were:
1) The lead guitarist performing like Jimi Hendrix in a tribute version of a Band of Gypsies song.
2) ?uestlove showcasing his drumming skills on anything that he could hit. Some of his drum solos were mesmerizing
3) The horn section (especially the Tuba) that accompanied the whole 2.5 hour long set
4) The crowd — which was crazy and loving every minute of their performance
If you ever have the chance to see them live, you have to do it. You wont regret it. I promise.
